I am a Canadian expat from Toronto living in Paris, France, working as an English pedagogical coordinator at Paris Diderot University, as well as a Ph.D candidate at Université Bordeaux Montaigne. For the past 6 years, I have been working at a number of French public universities teaching and coordinating English, which has enabled me to efficiently adapt to different working environments, while catering to different audiences.
Outside of the academic domain, I worked as a greeter at the Vikings in Bordeaux in the summer of 2016: my job consisted of welcoming American tourists at the train station and transporting them on a coach bus to the cruise, and accompanying them on the coach to assist them with their departure trains at the end of their trip. The same year, I also worked as a tour guide and a Korean-French translator for Korean tourists who came to do a wine tour in a number of chateaux in the Bordeaux region. Recently, in October 2018, I have worked as a language assistant at the SIAL international food exhibition in Paris at the South African pavillon, through which I enjoyed helping the vendors and clients build connections in English and French.
I am autonomous but I also love working in teams. I am fluent in English, Korean, and French, which enables me to work in multilingual and multicultural environment. I enjoy facing challenges and working to meet given objectives. Whether it be teaching, interpreting, assisting in numerous types of events, I enjoy human contact and interaction through my work.
